In Poltava region, a drone hit an energy facility: thousands of consumers without power
A Russian drone struck an energy infrastructure facility in Lubny district of Poltava region. As a result of the attack, about 6 thousand consumers were temporarily left without electricity.
This was reported by the Poltava Regional Military Administration.
According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the strike. The OVA does not disclose information about the nature of the damage to the energy facility.
The new strike on Poltava region became part of a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. As of the morning of October 2, Ukrenergo reported new blackouts after shelling in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.
Emergency restoration work is ongoing at damaged facilities and networks where the security situation allows. Power engineers are trying to bring equipment back into operation as soon as possible and restore power supply to consumers.
At the same time, the load on the power system is growing. As of 09:30 on October 2, the level of electricity consumption was 3.9% higher than at the same time the previous day. The daily maximum on October 1 was also 3.2% higher than the day before.
Ukrenergo urges to postpone the use of powerful household appliances to the period from 10:00 to 16:00, when the energy system has the largest amount of solar generation. In the evening hours - from 17:00 to 22:00 - consumers are asked not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time.
No planned consumption restrictions were forecast for October 2 across the country, but Ukrenergo emphasizes that the situation may change due to new Russian attacks.
