Traffic to be temporarily restricted in Kyiv and region due to foreign delegations
Traffic will be temporarily restricted in Kyiv and Kyiv region on Sunday, October 4, due to security measures involving foreign delegations.
This was reported by the State Security Administration of Ukraine.
The SSA warned residents and guests of the capital that the restrictions will be temporary and urged them to take them into account when planning trips around Kyiv and the region.
However, the agency has not yet specified on which streets and road sections traffic will be restricted, what time the changes will be in effect, and which foreign delegations will arrive in Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian legislation, the State Security Administration, together with units of the National Police, may temporarily restrict or completely stop the movement of vehicles and pedestrians during the passage of heads of foreign states, governments and parliaments, heads of international organizations and official delegations.
Such restrictions are introduced directly on the routes of movement of persons under state protection, so they may apply only to certain sections and for a limited time.
The SSA recommends that drivers and passengers of public transport take into account possible delays and allow extra time for travel.
Important: the official statement refers specifically to October 4. Since today is October 2, this is not "tomorrow" but Sunday. Specific road closure routes have not been announced at the time of publication.
