General Staff names the most tense front-line sectors on October 2

164 combat clashes have occurred on the front since the beginning of the day on October 2. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its operational update as of 22:00.

Over the day, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 60 air strikes using 176 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy used 6,230 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,795 shelling attacks on populated areas and positions of Ukrainian troops.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled 19 Russian assaults. The enemy attacked in the area of Kostiantynivka, as well as in the directions of Osykove, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Kondrashivka, Rozkishne, Hruzke, and Vilne.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces conducted 15 attacks in the directions of Dobropillia, Svitlо, Myrne, Serhiivka, and Molodetske. As of 22:00, two clashes were still ongoing.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian troops eliminated 35 Russian servicemen in this sector over the day, and another eight were wounded.

The Defense Forces also destroyed four vehicles, three special equipment items, a UAV control point, and two shelters of Russian troops. Another four vehicles, an artillery piece, two UAV control points, a special equipment item, and 36 shelters were damaged.

In addition, 170 Russian drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed in the Pokrovsk sector over the day.

In the South Slobozhanske sector, the enemy attacked positions of Ukrainian units six times in the directions of Starytsia, Vovchansk, Okhrymivka, and Karayichne. Four attacks were still ongoing at the time of publishing the update.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces made five attempts to improve their positions by conducting assault actions in the direction of Radkivka.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled three attempts by the enemy to advance in the areas of Drobysheve and Lyman. One engagement was ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces stopped an attempt by Russian troops to advance in the area of Ozerne. The enemy did not conduct assault actions in the Kramatorsk sector.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces attacked twice in the directions of Kalynivske and Berezove.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks near Vozdvyzhivka, Ternuvate, Rivne, and Horke. Two assaults were ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy made one attempt to improve its position by attacking in the direction of Pavlivka. Russian forces also conducted one assault attack in the Prydniprovske sector.

In the North Slobozhanske and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out three air strikes using five guided aerial bombs and carried out 34 shelling attacks, two of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the remaining sectors, according to the General Staff, there have been no significant changes in the situation.
