After Russian attacks new power outages recorded in six regions, electricity consumption growing
As a result of new Russian attacks on energy infrastructure on the morning of October 5, power outages were recorded in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa and Kherson regions.
This was reported by "Ukrenergo". In regions where the security situation allows, emergency restoration work has already begun. Power engineers are trying to bring damaged equipment back into operation and restore power supply to consumers.
At the same time, consumption in the power system has noticeably increased. As of 09:30, it was 6.2% higher than at the same time the previous working day - Friday.
In "Ukrenergo" they explain this by cloudy weather in some regions. Due to the lower efficiency of household solar power plants, households take more electricity from the general grid.
The daily maximum consumption on October 4 also increased: it was 4.8% higher than the previous Sunday, September 27.
Ukrainians are asked to use powerful electrical appliances from 10:00 to 16:00 when possible, when industrial solar power plants work most efficiently. In the evening hours from 17:00 to 22:00 it is advisable not to turn on several powerful appliances at once.
At the same time, no planned consumption restrictions are forecast for October 5. In "Ukrenergo" they warn that due to new attacks the situation in some regions may change, so consumers are advised to follow the messages of local distribution system operators.
On the night of October 5, Russia also attacked infrastructure in Odesa region and Zaporizhzhia. In Odesa region, industrial and port facilities came under attack, large fires broke out. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian troops attacked an infrastructure facility, with no casualties reported initially.
