In Poland, after the launch of a new version of the state program CPN, the maximum retail price of A-95 gasoline is kept below 7 zloty per liter. On October 7, the authorities set a limit of 6.86 zloty per liter.

Such data was published by the Ministry of Energy of Poland.

On October 7, the maximum prices for main types of fuel are:

  • gasoline A-95 — 6.86 zloty per liter;
  • gasoline A-98 — 7.74 zloty;
  • diesel fuel — 7.80 zloty.

These are precisely the ceiling prices: Polish gas stations may sell fuel cheaper, but are not allowed to exceed the level set by the state.

At the same time, the Ministry of Energy has already announced new limits for October 8. The maximum price of A-95 will decrease to 6.83 zloty per liter, A-98 — to 7.71 zloty, diesel — to 7.74 zloty.

The new version of the "Ceny Paliwa Niżej" (CPN) program came into effect on October 3 and is designed until the end of 2026. It provides for a reduction of VAT on fuel from 23% to 8%, a reduction in excise duty and the introduction of mandatory maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel.

At the launch of the program, the authorities set for the period from October 3 to 5 the maximum price of A-95 at 6.73 zloty per liter, A-98 — 7.59 zloty, diesel — 7.88 zloty.

The Ministry of Energy reviews price restrictions regularly. According to Business Insider Polska, after the launch of the current version of CPN, A-95 gasoline remains cheaper than 7 zloty, despite rising gasoline prices on international markets.

The current program is already the third version of the CPN mechanism in 2026. The first was launched in the spring amid a sharp rise in world oil prices, and the second in August. The authorities explain the latest return of restrictions by high volatility of the oil market and tension in the Middle East.

The authorities plan to finance the program, among other things, through a special tax on windfall profits of fuel companies. According to government estimates, the effect of the new package of measures until the end of the year will cost about 5 billion zloty.
