Electricity tariffs in Ukraine preserved for the entire heating season
In Ukraine, the cost of electricity for households will not increase during the heating season of 2026/2027. The current tariffs will remain in place for ordinary household consumers as well as for households that use electricity for heating their homes.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi announced this on October 8. Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal also confirmed the tariffs will be preserved.
Thus, Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity at current rates. For most household consumers, the price is 4.32 UAH per kWh, and owners of housing with officially installed electric heating receive preferential conditions.
Previously, the fixed price for electricity was set until October 31, 2026. Now, according to statements from government representatives, it is planned to keep it for the entire heating season, which covers the winter months and part of spring 2027.
How much will Ukrainians pay for electricity
The basic tariff for the population is 4.32 UAH per kWh including VAT. It applies regardless of the monthly volume of electricity consumption.
At the current price, household expenses without considering benefits, subsidies, and special conditions are:
- at consumption of 100 kWh per month — 432 UAH;
- at consumption of 200 kWh — 864 UAH;
- at consumption of 300 kWh — 1296 UAH;
- at consumption of 500 kWh — 2160 UAH.
The final amount on the bill depends on actual consumption. For houses and apartments with multi-zone meters, separate payment conditions are also provided depending on the time of day.
In particular, owners of two-zone meters can pay for electricity used from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a coefficient of 0.5. At the standard tariff, nighttime consumption costs 2.16 UAH per kWh.
Which tariffs will remain for homes with electric heating
Separate conditions apply to Ukrainians who use electricity as the main source of heating. For such consumers, a preferential tariff of 2.64 UAH per kWh is provided for monthly consumption of no more than 2,000 kWh.
The benefit applies to residential houses and apartments equipped with electric heating installations in the prescribed manner. It is also provided for residents of certain non-gasified multi-apartment buildings where central or autonomous heat supply is absent or not functioning.
The preferential tariff applies from October 1 to April 30. If monthly consumption does not exceed 2,000 kWh, the entire used volume is paid at 2.64 UAH per kWh. If the limit is exceeded, the standard price of 4.32 UAH per kWh applies to the entire monthly volume.
For example, if a household with registered electric heating uses 1,500 kWh in a month, it will pay 3,960 UAH. If consumption is 2,000 kWh, the payment will be 5,280 UAH. But if the monthly volume reaches 2,100 kWh, the cost will be 9,072 UAH.
However, the mere presence of an electric boiler or other heating equipment does not automatically provide the benefit. Electric heating must be arranged in accordance with established requirements, and the relevant information must be reflected in the documents for the property.
Why tariffs were previously set only until the end of October
In April 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the special obligations mechanism for electricity market participants, known as PSO, until October 31. Thanks to this, the cost of electricity for the population remained at 4.32 UAH per kWh.
The PSO mechanism allows the state to set fixed prices for household consumers without directly linking them to fluctuations in the cost of electricity on the market.
At the same time, the government preserved preferential conditions for housing with electric heating and certain categories of consumers who do not have access to other sources of heat supply.
New statements from government leadership mean that in the upcoming heating season, they do not plan to increase the cost of electricity for the population. However, at the time of preparation of this material, a separate new regulatory act on extending tariffs until spring 2027 was not found in verified official publications.
Maintaining a fixed price is especially important for households that use electricity not only for lighting and household appliances, but also for heating, water heating, and cooking. Even without a tariff change, expenses may increase due to seasonal growth in consumption.
