Kyiv Metro suspends operation: trains and escalators stopped
In Kyiv, metro train traffic has been completely stopped due to a voltage drop in the power grid. The operation of escalators at underground stations has also been suspended.
This was reported on October 8 by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
According to city authorities, the metro shutdown was caused by a voltage drop required for stable operation of equipment. The restrictions affected all lines of the capital's metro.
In addition to trains, escalators that ensure passenger movement between concourses and station platforms also stopped working.
At the time of the initial report, authorities did not specify how long the shutdown would last and when trains would be able to resume passenger transportation.
"For passenger transportation, operational duplication of the Borshchahivka high-speed tram line is being developed", - authorities clarified.

The Kyiv Metro reported that trains have resumed service on all lines of the capital's metro. Trains are running with increased intervals:
- "red" line - 10 min;
- "blue" line - 5 min;
- "green" line - 10 min.
All metro stations are open for entry.
During October 8, disruptions in the operation of city electric transport were already recorded in Kyiv. Earlier, due to the absence of voltage in the contact network, delays occurred for trams on six routes and trolleybuses on twenty routes.
In addition, the voltage drop led to water supply disruptions on the right bank of the capital. Water pressure problems were observed in Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.
Information on the restoration of full metro operation requires separate confirmation from city authorities. Passengers are advised to follow operational messages from the KCSA and the metro before traveling.
