In Russia, a chemical plant that produces missile fuel components was attacked
On the night of October 9, explosions and fires occurred in several regions of Russia. In Tver Oblast, an industrial enterprise, which, according to monitoring channels, produces fuel components for Russian cruise missiles, caught fire. In Belgorod Oblast, a fire at an oil depot was reported, and in Moscow Oblast, a large-scale blaze with explosions was recorded.
The consequences of the night's events are reported by independent outlet Astra and monitoring channel Exilenova+.
In the village of Redkino, Tver Oblast, a factory caught fire during a drone attack. The fact of the fire was confirmed by the governor of the region, Vitaliy Korolyov. According to him, the ignition occurred while repelling a UAV attack. The plant's workers were evacuated in time; there were no casualties.
The Russian official did not specify the name of the attacked enterprise. Meanwhile, Exilenova+ published video recordings of the night explosions and reported that the Redkino Experimental Plant was hit.
This enterprise specializes in the production of chemical products. According to the monitoring channel, the plant produces components for the special fuel "Detsilin-M", which is used for Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles, as well as additives for diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.
Thus, the enterprise is likely part of the production chain of the Russian military-industrial complex. In February 2026, the plant had already suffered a drone attack.
Later, the authorities of Tver Oblast reported the liquidation of the fire. According to the governor, production was not affected. There is currently no independent confirmation of the extent of the damage.
Another fire after the night attack was recorded in Belgorod Oblast. According to Exilenova+, an oil depot caught fire north of Belgorod. The channel published a photo of the fire.
During the night, locals also reported explosions in Belgorod itself. At the same time, there is no official confirmation of the damage to the oil depot, information on the scale of the fire, and possible casualties.
A separate incident occurred in the evening of October 8 in Pushkino, Moscow Oblast. A strong fire broke out there, accompanied by explosions and bright flashes. Eyewitnesses published video recordings showing a high column of smoke and fire.
OSINT analyst Astra examined the footage and determined that the ignition may have occurred at a truck parking lot near Yaroslavskoye Highway, where a truck maintenance service is located.
Meanwhile, the local administration reported a fire in a waste container. Russian Telegram channel SHOT claimed that unknown substances began to explode while extinguishing the fire in the container. According to one version, magnesium could have been present, but this information has not been confirmed by expert analysis.
Before the fire, the Moscow Oblast had declared a threat of drone attack. However, the cause of the ignition in Pushkino has not yet been established, and its connection to a possible drone attack has not been confirmed.
