Britain opens a defense companies cooperation center in Kyiv
A British business center, the Kyiv Business Centre (KBC), has been officially opened in Kyiv to ensure a permanent presence of British companies in Ukraine. Its main task is to develop cooperation between defense enterprises of the two countries, joint production of weapons, technology development and investment attraction.
The start of the center's work was reported by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom on October 8. The new representative office has already hosted its first official meeting attended by British industrialists, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, and the UK National Armaments Director Rupert Pearce.
The center should help above all small British companies that previously found it difficult to start operating in Ukraine on their own due to high costs, security restrictions and administrative procedures.
Kyiv Business Centre will work in three main areas: industry, innovation and investment. Companies will receive a platform to find Ukrainian partners, exchange technology, attract funding and launch joint production projects.
Special attention will be paid to using Ukrainian combat experience to improve defense development. At the same time, Ukrainian enterprises will be able to use the center to look for British industrial partners and receive support for opening subsidiaries in the UK.
According to British Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard, the opening of the representative office will create new opportunities for investment, economic growth and long-term recovery of Ukraine.
National Armaments Director Rupert Pearce noted that previously the main tool for establishing cooperation was trade missions of British entrepreneurs to Ukraine. Now companies have received a permanent platform for developing projects and searching for orders.
The British Ministry of Defence recalled that more than 40 large industrial partnerships are already operating between enterprises of the two countries. The new center is designed to expand this cooperation and accelerate the creation of joint production.
London announced its intention to open a business center in Kyiv back in January 2026. State funding was provided for the project's implementation over three years. In July, the British company Audere Group was chosen as the center's operator.
The opening of the Kyiv Business Centre is part of the implementation of the 100-year partnership agreement between Ukraine and the UK, which provides for deepened cooperation in defense industry, technology and economy.
