On Tuesday, October 13, hourly power outage schedules will continue to be in effect in a number of regions of Ukraine. The restrictions will affect both household consumers and enterprises. At the same time, the amount of outages will increase compared to Monday.

This is reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" in its official Telegram channel.

The reason for the restrictions remains the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The damaged equipment does not allow for stable power supply to all consumers without additional load restrictions.

Power outage schedules for October 13

According to "Ukrenergo", on Tuesday the following restrictions will be in effect in certain regions:

  • From 06:00 to 23:59 — hourly power outage schedules for all categories of consumers. The volume of restrictions will be from 0.5 to 2 queues.
  • From 06:00 to 23:59 — power limitation schedules for industrial enterprises and businesses.

Thus, restrictions are planned for almost the entire day. However, this time period does not mean that every consumer will be without electricity for 18 hours. The actual duration of outages depends on the queue, region, and current situation in the power system.

The company warned that the time and volume of restrictions may change depending on the consequences of new Russian shelling and the condition of energy equipment.

The full list of regions where schedules will be applied is not provided in the national announcement. Regional electricity distribution system operators must publish specific schedules for settlements and addresses.

Restrictions will become larger

Compared to Monday, October 12, the maximum volume of hourly outages will increase.

On Monday, in some regions, outage schedules of 0.5 to 1.5 queues were in effect from 06:00 to 23:59. For Tuesday, up to two queues are planned.

This means that in certain hours, energy workers may need to simultaneously limit electricity supply to a larger number of consumers.

The need for such measures is due to damage to power generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. Restrictions allow avoiding equipment overload and maintaining stability of the power system during restoration work.

Situation in the power system remains difficult

On Monday, October 12, "Ukrenergo" reported new power outages as a result of hostilities in Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

In all affected regions where security conditions allow, energy workers are carrying out emergency restoration work.

Additional strain on the power system is caused by increased electricity consumption. According to the company, on October 12, as of 09:30, consumption was 1.7% higher than at the same time on the previous working day — Friday, October 9.

Among the reasons for the increase in consumption, energy workers cited the smaller volume of active restrictions, as well as cloudy and rainy weather, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power plants.

In addition, on October 12, due to heavy rain and wind gusts, 63 settlements in Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil regions were fully or partially left without electricity. Repair crews of regional power companies are restoring damaged power lines.

Where to check the outage schedule

"Ukrenergo" recommends that consumers check current schedules directly on the official websites and pages of regional power companies.

It is the distribution system operators who publish schedules by specific addresses, information about outage queues, and messages about changes.

Energy workers also ask Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly, especially in the evening hours of peak consumption.

After the power supply is restored according to the schedule, it is recommended not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time. This will help reduce the load on the networks and reduce the likelihood of additional emergency outages.

The company emphasizes that due to the ongoing Russian attacks, the situation may change during the day, so the published schedules must be checked regularly.
