US President Donald Trump stated that Washington has not stopped providing intelligence information to Ukraine. The American leader denied assumptions about a pause in cooperation that arose after reports of threats from the US administration to limit support for Kyiv due to Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.

Trump said this on Tuesday, October 13, while speaking to journalists before departing from the White House for a MAGA campaign rally in Alaska. A video recording of the conversation was published by the Magno News account on the social network X.

One of the reporters directly asked the American president whether the United States had stopped sharing intelligence data with Ukraine.

"No, we have not done that. We are helping them and sharing intelligence," — Trump replied.

According to the US president, Washington continues to engage with both Ukraine and Russia, trying to achieve an end to the war.

"We want the war to end, so we are working with them and with Russia on ending the war," — the American leader added.

At the same time, Trump did not specify whether the volume or nature of intelligence support for Ukraine has changed in recent days. He also did not comment in detail on reports of possible restrictions on cooperation if Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy facilities continue.

The president's statement came shortly after the first briefing of new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia. Earlier on Tuesday, she could not answer the question whether the US continues to provide intelligence information to Ukraine.

Zacharia told reporters that she needed to clarify the information and get back to the issue later. Now the American president himself has publicly confirmed the continuation of intelligence sharing.

Recall that earlier Financial Times, CNN and other outlets reported that representatives of the Trump administration had warned Ukrainian officials about possible termination of intelligence support and restriction of supplies of American weapons.

According to media reports, Washington linked such measures to a demand to stop strikes by Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries. Trump opposed these attacks amid rising global diesel fuel prices and agreements with Moscow to expand Russian fuel supplies to the international market.

Additional questions about American intelligence support arose after the Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv on October 12.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on October 13 that the Ukrainian side did not receive advance warning from international partners about the launch of Russian ballistic missiles.

According to Politico, the American side explained the lack of warning by adverse weather conditions. However, sources told the outlet that Kyiv questioned the credibility of such an explanation.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated during the Warsaw Security Forum that intelligence exchange between Kyiv and Washington continues.

Thus, the statements by Trump and Sybiha confirm that intelligence cooperation has not been officially stopped. However, the reasons for the lack of timely warning about the latest ballistic missile strike on Kyiv remain unclear.
