On Thursday, October 15, delays are expected at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border during border and customs control. At the international checkpoint "Chop (Tisa)", the processing of cars and trucks will temporarily slow down due to technical works.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, citing the Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Zakarpattia Oblast.

Restrictions will be in effect from 09:00 to 17:00. During this period, installation and connection of the automatic backup power supply system is planned on the checkpoint territory.

Due to technical works and switching of engineering networks, electricity supply will be temporarily limited. This will slow down control operations in both passenger and freight directions.

Border guards warn that drivers and passengers should take into account a possible increase in waiting time when planning trips through the checkpoint "Chop (Tisa) – Záhony".

Citizens and international carriers are advised, if possible, to choose alternative routes for crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border or to allow extra time for control procedures.

At the same time, no complete closure of the checkpoint is reported. The restrictions affect the speed of processing citizens and vehicles.

The Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Zakarpattia Oblast explained that the installation of a backup power supply system is necessary to increase infrastructure reliability and ensure stable operation of the checkpoint in the future.
