In a residential building in downtown Kyiv, where Mayor Vitali Klitschko owns an apartment, hourly power outage schedules are not applied. The reason lies in the characteristics of the power supply: the building is connected to a critical infrastructure facility that cannot be disconnected according to regular schedules.

This is reported by "Slidstvo.Info" with reference to the official response from DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks.

Journalists found out that the building on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, where the mayor's apartment is located, receives electricity according to a scheme that involves a shared power supply with a critical infrastructure facility.

According to DTEK, ten other residential buildings are connected to the same power supply scheme. All of them are associated consumers of the critical facility.

The company explained that under the existing technical scheme, it is impossible to disconnect these buildings separately from the critical infrastructure facility during the operation of hourly schedules.

Thus, the absence of planned outages applies not only to the building with Klitschko's apartment, but also to other residential buildings connected to the same power supply system.

DTEK also noted that the company receives the list of critical infrastructure facilities from the Kyiv City Military Administration. It is based on this list and the technical features of the networks that the possibility of applying outage schedules is determined.

At the same time, the published response does not indicate the existence of a separate decision regarding the provision of electricity personally to the mayor. It concerns the peculiarities of connecting a group of residential buildings to a critical facility.

Also, the absence of hourly outages does not mean that the building is protected from emergency blackouts in case of damage to electric networks or other technical problems.
