Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled additional Kyiv City Express city electric train services due to repairs on bridges and metro infrastructure. Trains will strengthen the connection between the right and left banks of Kyiv to reduce pressure on public transport during peak hours.

This was reported on October 27 by the Kyiv City Express press service.

Already on the evening of October 27, 10 additional city electric train services will operate on the route. They will run across the Dnipro via the Darnytskyi and Pivnichnyi railway bridges.

From Wednesday, October 28, the number of additional services will be increased to 16 per day. Of these, six will operate during the morning peak, and another ten in the evening. The additional schedule published by the operator covers the period until October 30 inclusive.

Thanks to the combination of regular and additional trains, intervals during peak passenger flows will be from 15 minutes.

The electric trains will run in a semi-circle on the route Vydubychi - Berezniaky - Darnytsia - Rusanivka - Livoberezhna - Mykilska Slobidka - Voskresenka - Raiduzhnyi - Pochaina and in the reverse direction.

Thus, passengers will be able to cross the Dnipro by rail, avoiding metro sections and road bridges whose traffic is temporarily restricted.

The first additional evening trains on October 27 will depart from Vydubychi at 15:57 and from Pochaina at 15:59. From October 28, morning services will start around 6:00.

Tickets for additional services can be purchased in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app. The detailed timetable is published on the official Kyiv City Express channel.

The increase in city electric train services is related to transport connection restrictions after Russian attacks on Kyiv. In particular, on the night of October 27, Russian forces again struck the Pivdennyi Bridge, damaging metro infrastructure.

As previously reported by "Kurs Ukrainy", due to the damage, vehicle traffic on the bridge was closed, and restrictions were introduced on the green metro line. This complicated movement between the banks of the capital.

Additional Kyiv City Express trains are expected to provide alternative transport connections during the restoration works and reduce pressure on other public transport routes.
