Rateswere set at 15:30 on October 27 and reflect the following trends:

1. Immediately after the start of Tuesday trading on the interbank foreign exchange market balanced trading was observed in a narrow range of 45.59-45.635 UAH. After 11 a.m. quotes began to decline and by 12:00 fell to 45.54 UAH on the “bid” position. The average transaction price at 12:00 was 45.59 UAH – 12 kopecks higher than on Monday. After 12:00, the decline in quotes attracted a large number of buyers, and an imbalance between demand and supply appeared in the market. Quotes began to rise again, despite the intervention of the National Bank, which actively sold currency, but could not stop the growth. Shortly before the close of trading, the non-cash dollar set a new historical maximum – 45.707 UAH on the “bid” position. Logically, by the close of trading the average price increased even more, so the NBU raised the official dollar rate for Wednesday by 6.3 kopecks.

2. The euro on the international market FOREX continued to decline on Tuesday, falling to the level of 1.11353 dollars. At the time of fixing, the euro was sold at 1.11516 dollars - 1.1189 dollars – 37.4 points lower than on Monday. Therefore, despite the increase in the official dollar rate, the NBU reduced the official euro rate for Wednesdayby 10 kopecks.
