Cash dollar continues to rise in price, no longer reacting to what is happening on the interbank currency market, where some stabilization has emerged. In Kyiv on Wednesday morning, wholesale exchange offices sell cash dollars at 46.25-46.30 UAH per regular (i.e. "white") dollar, which is 35 kopecks more expensive than a day ago. New-design dollars (so-called "blue dollar") cost at least 10-15 kopecks more.
Price tags have also significantly increased in other major cities. In Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa and Mykolaiv on Wednesday morning, the dollar was sold at 46.20 UAH, in Dnipro – at 46.25-46.30 UAH, in Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi – at 46.39 and 46.40 UAH respectively, in Poltava – at 46.50 UAH.
Ukrainian banks by 12:00 were selling the dollar at a price from 45.80 UAH in Kyiv's Oxi Bank and Creditvest Bank to 46.30 UAH in Radabank. As for the euro, at the same time it could be purchased cheapest at 51.20 UAH in Raiffeisen Bank branches across Ukraine.
Analysts of the "Kurs Ukrainy" portal draw attention to the titanic efforts of the National Bank to stop the growth of the non-cash dollar exchange rate, which it is undertaking today, and believe that as soon as quotes on the interbank market go down, a similar reaction will immediately follow on the cash market. By buying cash dollars now, there is a chance to buy it at a peak price.
