Polish discount retailer Pepco, offering affordable clothing and home goods, has officially entered the Ukrainian market. On Wednesday, October 28, the company's first store opened in Kyiv's Respublika Park shopping mall. The chain plans to launch two more stores in the capital in the coming days.
This was announced by Pepco's HR Director in Ukraine, Maryna Popova. The opening was also confirmed by the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers.
The first Pepco store, with an area of about 450 sq. m, is located in Respublika Park mall at 1 Kiltseva Road. It offers products for the whole family, including children's and adult clothing, toys, home textiles, kitchenware, decor, and seasonal collections.
According to Popova, the entry into the Ukrainian market was preceded by several months of preparation with the participation of Pepco's international team and the newly established Ukrainian division.
The next two stores are scheduled to open on Friday, October 30. They will operate in the capital's shopping and entertainment centers: Retroville at 47 Yevropeiskoho Soiuzu Avenue and DREAM Yellow at 1B Obolonskyi Avenue.
The company separately announced procedures during air raids. In case of an alert, stores will close, and customer service will resume only after the all-clear and when the situation is safe.
Pepco's head in Ukraine, Arsen Starchenko, emphasized that the chain's entry into the Ukrainian market is a long-term strategic decision. He said Pepco aims to develop its presence in the country and create new opportunities for Ukrainian consumers.
Further network expansion
As previously reported by "Kurs Ukrainy", on October 16 the company announced a precise schedule for the opening of its first three stores in Kyiv.
By the end of 2026, Pepco also plans to enter the markets of Ternopil and Chernivtsi. Future locations mentioned include the new phase of the Podolyany mall and Bukovyna Mall. Specific opening dates for these stores have not been announced yet.
Expansion will be phased. The company's further plans will depend on the performance of the first stores, customer demand, and safety conditions.
Pepco is one of the largest European discount store chains. The company started operations in Poland in 2004 and later expanded into Central, Eastern, and Western European markets.
Currently, the chain has over 4,000 stores. Its business model focuses on selling clothing and everyday goods at affordable prices. Pepco is part of Pepco Group, whose shares are traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The opening of the first store in Kyiv marked the actual start of Pepco's operations in the Ukrainian market after several months of preparation and announcements of development plans.
