In Kyiv, after the Russian attack on October 27, damage to reinforced concrete structures, roadways, and metro infrastructure was discovered on the Southern Bridge. Some of the defects may affect the strength of the entire structure. Technical solutions for further restoration will be decided after receiving an expert report, which is expected early next week.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration, citing the Department of Transport Infrastructure.

According to city authorities, the strike damaged the reinforced concrete span structure of the bridge, roadways, metro structures, and engineering utilities.

On sections that did not suffer critical damage, priority restoration work is already underway. The National Institute for Infrastructure Development has provided relevant conclusions. On these sections, specialists of the municipal enterprise "Kyivavtoshlyakhmist" can work without additional engineering surveys and design solutions.

At the same time, certain damages require in-depth inspection, as they may affect the overall performance of the bridge structure.

Relevant research institutes are conducting dynamic tests, geodetic control of deformations, monitoring defect development, and performing verification calculations using special models.

The inspection report of the bridge structure is planned to be received early next week. The document should contain test results, assessment of the technical condition of structures, and conclusions on their safety.

After receiving the report, specialists will determine further technical solutions for the restoration of the Southern Bridge and the above-ground section of the Syretsko-Pecherska metro line. KMDA has not yet provided specific deadlines for completion of repairs.

Work on metro facilities continues in parallel. Metro workers have already restored priority power supply cable networks, signaling, and communications, which allowed train service to resume on the left-bank section between the stations "Osokorky" and "Chervonyi Khutir".

Currently, specialists continue to restore engineering systems necessary for full metro operation. Municipal enterprises are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Recall that on October 27, Russian troops struck the Southern Bridge. Due to damage to the structure and metro infrastructure, vehicle traffic across the bridge was restricted, and trains of the green line started running on separate sections.
