Ukraine is awaiting final confirmation of the date for trilateral talks with the US and Russia on ending the war. Tentatively, the meeting of negotiation delegations could take place between November 6 and 10, but agreement on the timing is still ongoing.

This was stated on October 28 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint briefing with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten.

According to the Ukrainian president, Kyiv is interested in the earliest possible resumption of the trilateral negotiation process. At the same time, the Ukrainian side is waiting for confirmation of a concrete date from its partners.

The period from November 6 to 10 is being considered as a possible timeframe for the meeting, rather than a finally approved schedule. The consultations are expected to be held at the level of the negotiation teams of the three states.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, was previously named as the venue for the talks. The meeting is expected to focus on practical steps to end the Russo-Ukrainian war and prepare further diplomatic contacts.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Kyiv and Moscow positively assess the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting. However, the final date, according to the president, now largely depends on Washington.

As reported by Kurs.com.ua, the American side asked to change the schedule of preliminary consultations with Ukraine and European partners due to the situation in the Middle East.

Initially, a separate meeting in Brussels was planned for October 27–28 with the participation of Ukraine, the US, the leadership of the European Union, and the NATO Secretary General. It was expected to discuss security guarantees and coordinate positions before talks with the Russian side.

Ukraine intends to raise at the upcoming trilateral meeting the issues of halting strikes on energy infrastructure, de-escalation in the Black Sea, exchange of prisoners of war, and return of detained citizens.

Another task will be to prepare possible talks directly between the leaders of Ukraine, the US, and Russia. Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized that the most complex issues of ending the war should be resolved at the highest political level.

On October 23, during a speech at the Hudson Institute, the President of Ukraine said that an agreement had been reached to hold a trilateral meeting in the first half of November. He noted that Kyiv is ready to participate in consultations any day.

Thus, the period from November 6 to 10 announced on October 28 clarifies the preliminary timeframe of the talks. At the same time, there is still no official confirmation of a concrete date and the composition of the delegations of all three states.
