In Kherson region, demining of routes to temporarily occupied Oleshky continues. The work is carried out as part of a humanitarian mission intended to deliver aid to local residents and organize safe exit of the civilian population.

This was reported on October 28 by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.

According to him, demining is a necessary stage in fulfilling the agreements reached between the Ukrainian and Russian sides with the mediation of the United States. After the completion of this work, it is planned to deliver humanitarian goods and enable evacuation of residents.

Food, drinking water, medicines, and equipment for the local hospital are to be delivered to Oleshky. The assistance is intended for civilians who have been under humanitarian blockade for a long time.

Lubinets said that he continues to coordinate the preparation of the mission with the Human Rights Commissioner in Russia, Yana Lantratova. The agreements were reached with the participation of First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.

After demining is completed, it is planned to enable all residents of Oleshky who wish to leave to do so. Citizens will be able to choose whether to go to territory controlled by Ukraine or to Russia. For those who decide to stay in the city, humanitarian aid is also to be provided.

As Kurs.com.ua reported earlier, on October 27 at 03:00 Kyiv time, an agreed ceasefire regime came into effect in the Oleshky area. It was introduced to conduct a humanitarian operation. According to the agreements, silence mode is to be maintained until 22:59 on November 1.

On the morning of October 28, Lubinets said that during the first 30 hours of the agreement, the parties had recorded no violations of the ceasefire. The ombudsman stressed that constant communication between representatives of Ukraine and Russia allows monitoring the implementation of the agreements.

Meanwhile, the actual evacuation of residents has not yet begun. Its implementation depends on the completion of preparatory work and compliance with agreed security conditions. The exact routes and timing of civilian removal are not publicly disclosed.
