Since the beginning of the day on October 28, 181 combat engagements have been recorded on the front between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops. The highest enemy activity was observed on the Pokrovske and Kostiantynivka directions.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational update as of 22:00 on Wednesday, October 28.

According to the Ukrainian command, during the day the Russian army launched 55 air strikes, using 188 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy employed 5,249 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,731 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.

The most intense fighting continued on the Pokrovske direction, where 38 attacks were recorded. Russian units attempted to advance in the areas of several settlements, including Dobropillia, Udachne, and Novopavlivka. As of 22:00, three combat engagements were still ongoing.

According to preliminary data from the General Staff, on this sector Ukrainian forces eliminated 34 Russian servicemen, and another 24 were wounded. They also claimed the destruction of seven vehicles, 59 shelters, and the destruction or suppression of 153 drones of various types.

On the Kostiantynivka direction, the Defense Forces stopped 16 attempts of Russian troops to advance. Combat actions were conducted in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, Novoselivka, and other settlements.

Nine Russian attacks were recorded on the Huliaipole direction. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of several settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Pivdenno-Slobozhanske direction, seven combat engagements occurred, one of which was still ongoing at the time of publication of the update. On the Lyman direction, four attacks were recorded, and one battle also remained unfinished.

On the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks. On the Kupiansk, Oleksandrivka, and Orikhiv directions, one combat engagement each was recorded.

On the Pivnichno-Slobozhanske, Kramatorsk, and Prydniprovske directions, Russian troops did not conduct offensive actions. On the remaining sectors of the front, no significant changes in the situation occurred, according to the General Staff.
