On Thursday, October 29, the interbank currency market is seeing the usual trading in a narrow range of 45.54-45.57 hryvnia. However, unlike Wednesday, when buyer activity was off the charts, today there are significantly fewer buyers. It seems the end-of-month factor is beginning to influence the interbank market: importers do not have much free hryvnia left that could be converted into non-cash dollars or euros.

At 11:14, trading volume in the Bloomberg system amounted to $77 million – 2.5 times less than at the same time yesterday. Today the National Bank no longer needs to sell currency as actively as it did yesterday: quotes are frozen in place even without its participation.

The euro on the interbank currency market of Ukraine on Thursday is also trading in a narrow range of 50.70-50.78 hryvnia – about 3-6 kopecks more expensive than yesterday. The euro tried to rise yesterday evening after it became known that the US Federal Reserve left the interest rate unchanged, and even climbed to 1.1169 dollars, but today the dollar is rising again on FOREX, while the euro is falling.

In Ukraine, the growth of the dollar on the global currency market FOREX may trigger its growth on the interbank market as well, but not today. At 14:00, a press briefing of the NBU leadership will take place, where the decision on the National Bank's interest rate will be announced. On this day, according to established tradition, the National Bank firmly holds the dollar exchange rate or even plays for a decrease.
