The cash dollar continues to rise in price, having long stopped reacting to what is happening on the interbank currency market, where for the second day in a row the situation has been stabilizing thanks to the active actions of the National Bank. Today there was even a slight decrease in quotations amid falling demand.

In Kyiv in the first half of Thursday, wholesale exchange offices are selling the cash dollar at 46.40-46.45 UAH per ordinary (i.e., "white") dollar, which is 15 kopecks more expensive than a day ago. New-style dollars (the so-called "blue dollar") cost at least 10-15 kopecks more. At the same time, it is worth noting that yesterday evening the selling rate in the capital's wholesale exchange offices reached 46.50 UAH and higher, that is, today the dollar fell compared to its peak values.

Prices continue to rise in other major cities. In Odesa on Thursday morning, the dollar was sold at 46.43 UAH, in Chernivtsi – at 46.45 UAH, in Kharkiv – at 46.55 UAH, in Khmelnytskyi – at 46.60 UAH, in Poltava – at 46.70 UAH.

Ukrainian banks by 12:00 were selling the dollar at a price from 45.80 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank to 46.50 UAH in the International Investment Bank. As for the euro, at the same time it could be bought cheapest at 51.15 UAH in branches of Raiffeisen Bank across Ukraine.

Analysts of the "Course of Ukraine" portal draw attention to the titanic efforts of the National Bank, which it is making to stop the growth of the non-cash dollar exchange rate. If in the coming days it does not go further up, one can hope that the cash dollar will also stop growing and begin to decline, converging in price with the non-cash one.
