Naples International Airport (Capodichino) in Italy will completely suspend flight operations from November 1 to November 30, 2026 due to large-scale reconstruction of the runway. Some flights will be redirected to the nearby Salerno Airport, and special bus service has been organized for passengers.

This was announced by the operator company GESAC. Details of the transportation arrangements were also published by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on October 29.

During the closure of Naples Airport, part of the air traffic will be moved to Salerno - Costa d'Amalfi Airport. In November, flights will be operated from there to 15 domestic and international destinations.

Among them - Milan, Bergamo, Genoa, Turin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, Dusseldorf, Dubai and other cities. Both terminals will be used at Salerno to handle additional passengers.

To transport passengers between Naples and Salerno Airport, a special bus route has been introduced. It was organized by GESAC and Busitalia Campania. Buses will depart from Piazza Garibaldi in Naples, where the central railway station is located, directly to Salerno Airport.

Eight trips are scheduled daily in each direction. The timetable is coordinated with flight arrival and departure times. The ticket price is 12 euros one way. It can be purchased directly on the bus by electronic payment.

In addition, the number of bus trips between Salerno Airport and the city's railway station has been increased. Routes to Potenza, Eboli, Battipaglia and the Amalfi Coast will continue to operate. Also, shared taxis with fixed fares between the airport and the central railway stations of Naples and Salerno have been introduced on a trial basis.

The reconstruction of Naples Airport includes the renewal of the runway, taxiways, lighting systems and navigation equipment. The total cost of the works is estimated at approximately 30 million euros. Construction works will be carried out around the clock throughout the closure period.

Passengers who have purchased airline tickets to or from Naples for November should check the information directly with their airline. Moving some flights to Salerno does not mean automatic transfer of all scheduled flights. Departure times and locations must be verified against the updated booking.
