Demining of the routes necessary for the humanitarian mission has been completed in occupied Oleshky, Kherson region. The convoy with aid for local residents is fully formed and ready for dispatch. The cargo delivery is scheduled for October 30.
This was reported on the evening of October 29 by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, as announced.
According to the ombudsman, the preparation of the humanitarian operation has reached its final stage. Demining of the agreed routes has been completed, which makes it possible to proceed to the next part of the mission — delivering aid and organizing the safe departure of the civilian population.
The humanitarian cargo is intended for residents of Oleshky who remain in the city after prolonged Russian occupation. It is planned to hand over food, drinking water, medicines, and other essential items.
A separate task of the mission will be the organization of voluntary evacuation. According to Lubinets, citizens wishing to leave the city should be provided with this opportunity, subject to necessary security measures.
The ombudsman also reported that representatives of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia gathered to coordinate further actions within the humanitarian operation. Journalists from the three countries are present at the events to cover the implementation of the agreements reached.
Lubinets emphasized that the mission is conducted jointly with Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova, with the mediation and coordination of US First Lady Melania Trump.
Earlier, on the morning of October 29, the Ukrainian ombudsman reported that the ceasefire regime in the Oleshky area had been in effect for 54 hours without recorded violations. At that time, demining was still ongoing, and the humanitarian cargo was in the process of being assembled.
The temporary ceasefire began on October 27 at 03:00 Kyiv time and is to last until 22:59 on November 1. It was agreed specifically for the humanitarian operation, delivery of aid, and ensuring the safe departure of civilians.
As previously reported by Kurs.com.ua, on October 29, a Ukrainian delegation led by Lubinets set off to participate in the mission. The preparation of the operation is conducted with international mediation.
The completion of demining and the formation of the convoy mark transition to the next stage of the humanitarian mission. At the same time, the actual delivery of aid to Oleshky and the start of evacuation of residents, as of the evening of October 29, have not yet been confirmed.
