On the morning of October 30, Dnipro was again left without electricity after partial restoration of power overnight. The energy system, damaged by Russian attacks, cannot withstand the load, leading to emergency outages in the city and surrounding areas.
This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, and the energy company DTEK.
On the evening of October 29, after another Russian strike, over 350,000 subscribers in Dnipro and nearby settlements were left without power. According to DTEK, equipment of main power grids was damaged, causing power supply to disappear in parts of districts on both banks of the city.
Energy workers worked all night and managed to restore electricity to some consumers. However, in the morning the situation worsened again.
According to Hanzha, the damaged energy system cannot withstand the load. The maximum number of repair crews was engaged to restore power supply.
By order of NEC "Ukrenergo", emergency outages were applied in Dnipro, districts adjacent to the regional center, and part of Pavlohrad district.
DTEK emphasized that during emergency outages, regular hourly schedules do not apply. Energy workers primarily work on restoring power supply to critical infrastructure facilities and residential buildings.
Due to power interruptions, the main life support systems of Dnipro are switching to backup power. In particular, water supply and sewerage systems operate from generators.
According to the morning report of the Regional Military Administration, as a result of Russian attacks in Dnipro, an enterprise and infrastructure were also damaged. The current number of consumers who remain without power after the repeated outage has not yet been specified.
A difficult situation persists on the railway as well. Chairman of the Board of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Oleksandr Pertsovskyi reported repeated strikes on the Dnipro railway station and problems with passenger departure. According to him, those who cannot use purchased tickets will be fully refunded, and passengers with connections will be offered alternative solutions.
Residents who have already had power restored are urged by regional authorities not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances simultaneously to reduce the load on the damaged networks.
