Cash dollar has stopped rising in price, but is not rushing to get cheaper, stubbornly unresponsive to what's happening on the interbank foreign exchange market, where for the third day in a row stabilization has been observed thanks to the active actions of the National Bank and the end-of-month factor.

In Kyiv in the first half of the day on Friday, as yesterday, wholesale exchange offices sell cash dollars at 46.40-46.45 UAH per ordinary (i.e. "white") dollar. New-style dollars (so-called "blue dollar") cost at least 10-15 kopecks more. At the same time, it is worth noting that yesterday evening the selling rate in the capital's wholesale exchange offices dropped to 46.35 UAH.

Notably, price tags in different large cities differ significantly: there is no single dollar price. If in Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi on Friday morning the dollar was sold at 46.40 UAH, then in Poltava – at 46.70-46.80 UAH. Operators of the cash currency market complained to the "Kurs Ukrainy" portal about the lack of cash currency: "for one person handing in a dollar – about five wanting to buy."

Ukrainian banks by 12:00 sold the dollar at prices from 45.75 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank to 46.49 UAH in Kredobank. As for the euro, for the second day in a row it is cheapest to buy at 51.15 UAH in Raiffeisen Bank branches throughout Ukraine.

Analysts of the "Kurs Ukrainy" portal suggested that the slowdown in the dollar exchange rate growth is caused by two factors. First, the end-of-month factor: both the population and businesses now need hryvnia more for various settlements and loan repayments. Second, the news about the increase in the NBU discount rate, which means automatic appreciation of the hryvnia itself: interest rates on deposits and government bonds should rise, which will make the national currency more attractive to investors.
