On October 30, a powerful explosion occurred in Spain at the Fábrica de Municiones de Granada munitions factory, located in the El Fargue area near the city of Granada. The enterprise is part of the European defense group CSG and is linked to the supply of ammunition to Ukraine. As a result of the incident, three workers suffered minor injuries.

This was reported by the Spanish news agency EFE and the emergency service 112 of Andalusia.

The explosion occurred shortly before 09:00 local time. According to emergency services, the first call came in at 08:57. In total, dispatchers received more than 30 reports of a strong detonation, which was felt not only in Granada but also in neighboring towns.

A large column of smoke rose above the plant. Firefighters, medics, National Police and Civil Guard units, including explosives disposal specialists, arrived at the scene.

According to official information from the 112 service, three employees of the plant received minor hearing injuries. They were given medical assistance and scheduled for additional examination at the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital in Granada.

Law enforcement established safety perimeters around the facility. At the same time, inspection of nearby residential buildings did not reveal serious structural damage.

The explosion occurred not in the production workshops, but on a special site designated for the disposal of old, damaged, or unusable ammunition.

This was stated by the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which owns the plant. As reported by Europa Press, the company explained that this site is located at a safe distance from the main production facilities and civilian objects.

According to the enterprise owner, after the explosion emergency protocols were activated, and personnel were evacuated. The company confirmed two workers with minor hearing damage, while the Andalusian emergency service reported three injured.

CSG emphasized that production equipment and premises were not damaged. Therefore, the company does not expect a long-term negative impact of the incident on the plant's operation.

The causes of the explosion are being investigated by law enforcement. Representatives of the UGT trade union suggested that it could have occurred during planned ammunition tests, but there is no official conclusion on the incident's causes yet.

The Granada plant is linked to ammunition supplies for Ukraine. The enterprise is part of the Czech defense industrial group CSG through the Slovak MSM Group and specializes in the production of ammunition, gunpowder, and rocket weapon components.

In particular, on October 13, Spanish broadcaster RTVE reported about a truck accident near this plant. The vehicle was transporting mortar ammunition and other explosive materials destined for Ukraine.

At that time, part of the dangerous cargo ended up on the road, causing local authorities to temporarily close traffic and activate an emergency alert. After the intervention of specialized services, traffic was restored.

Currently, there are no confirmations that the road accident on October 13 and the explosion at the enterprise on October 30 are connected. No signs of deliberate interference in the plant's operation have been reported either.
