The new attack occurred amid a difficult situation in Kyiv's energy system. Earlier on October 30, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported significant damage to the energy infrastructure of the capital, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions as a result of previous Russian shelling.
The ministry warned that full restoration of power supply would take time. Due to damage to energy equipment, emergency outages were already applied in some districts of the capital, during which standard hourly schedules do not apply.
In addition, on the night of October 30, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. As a result of the shelling, residential and non-residential buildings were damaged and fires broke out.
