Poland's ambassador to Romania, Paweł Soloch, has resigned due to the crisis surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal in the country, according to Eurointegration.
He wrote about this on X, reports European Pravda.
Soloch stated that he made this decision "due to the attempted illegal seizure of the Constitutional Court, which is why I see no possibility of continuing to perform my duties."
"I have informed the President's Chancellery and the head of the Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, about my resignation", he added.
Earlier, a similar decision was reported by Poland's ambassador to China, Jakub Kumoch.
As a reminder, on Friday a message appeared on the Constitutional Tribunal's website about the dismissal of the court's president Bogdan Święczkowski and his deputy Bartłomiej Sochański.
However, on the Constitutional Tribunal's page on X, it is claimed that the court's website has been seized and that the tribunal's president Bogdan Święczkowski continues to perform his duties.
On Saturday night, participants of an opposition rally gathered near the Constitutional Tribunal building. Protesters, including the leader of the Law and Justice party Jarosław Kaczyński, broke down the gates and are trying to enter the court building.
Donald Tusk's government sought to reform the court and appoint new judges, but President Karol Nawrocki refused to swear in three of the six judges appointed by parliament. In turn, the court's president Bogdan Święczkowski refused to allow judges elected by the current parliamentary majority to take office.
