On the morning of November 2, emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv and four regions of Ukraine. The reason was a difficult situation in the power system due to the consequences of Russian shelling. At the same time, after new attacks on energy infrastructure, blackouts were recorded in nine more regions.
This was reported by NPC "Ukrenergo". By order of the power system operator, emergency outages were introduced, in particular, in Kyiv and Kyiv region, which was separately reported by DTEK.
According to regional energy companies, emergency outages have been introduced in the following regions:
- Kyiv;
- Kyiv region;
- Sumy region;
- Poltava region;
- Zhytomyr region.
During emergency outages, previously published hourly schedules are not applicable. This means that power supply may be interrupted outside the established time intervals. The duration of restrictions depends on the state of the power system.
"Ukrenergo" explained that energy workers are working to restore stable power supply. Emergency restrictions will be lifted after the situation stabilizes. Specific deadlines for returning to planned schedules have not yet been given.
In its morning report on November 2, "Ukrenergo" clarified that over the past day, Russian troops continued to attack Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure. As a result of these strikes, new power outages occurred in nine regions:
- Vinnytsia;
- Donetsk;
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Zaporizhzhia;
- Cherkasy;
- Kirovohrad;
- Rivne;
- Odesa;
- Kharkiv.
The company emphasized that these are power outages due to damage to energy infrastructure. This does not mean automatic introduction of emergency outages in all listed regions.
Where the security situation allows, energy workers are already carrying out emergency restoration work. Specialists are trying to restore power to all de-energized consumers as soon as possible.
In addition to emergency outages, in some regions until the end of the day on November 2, hourly schedules of up to 2.5 stages will be in effect. Capacity restriction schedules are also provided for industrial consumers.
Such measures are necessary to avoid overloading equipment that was damaged during previous Russian shelling. In regions where emergency outages are applied, hourly schedules remain invalid until further notice.
According to "Ukrenergo", electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased. As of 09:30 on Monday, November 2, it was 1.6% lower than at the same time on the previous working day - October 30. At the same time, the evening peak consumption on November 1 was 4.1% lower than the previous Sunday. The main reason was forced restrictions after Russian attacks.
"Ukrenergo" called on Ukrainians to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances from 16:00 to 22:00. During this period, the load on the power system traditionally increases, while the capabilities of damaged equipment remain limited.
The power system operator warned that the situation may change during the day. Consumers are advised to check current outage schedules for a specific address on official websites and pages of regional power companies in their region.
