In Kyiv on the morning of November 2, due to power supply problems, the operation of the metro and ground electric transport was temporarily limited. Later, train traffic on the red metro line was fully restored, but restrictions remain on part of the green line.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration. The cause of the failures were significant voltage fluctuations from external power centers.

Initially, train traffic on the red line was limited to the section between "Akademmistechko" and "Arsenalna" stations, and the above-ground portion of the route was temporarily closed.

Subsequently, the Kyiv City State Administration reported the full restoration of red line traffic. Currently, trains again run between "Akademmistechko" and "Lisova" stations in normal mode.

According to the latest message from the city authorities, the situation in the metro is as follows:

  • Red line: traffic has been restored in full, trains run between "Akademmistechko" and "Lisova" stations.
  • Green line: trains are temporarily not running between "Osokorky" and "Chervonyi khutir" stations.
  • Blue line: operating normally.

The restrictions also affected ground public transport. "Kyivpastrans" reported a temporary halt of electric transport traffic on the Borshchahivka high-speed tram line and on Vidradnyi Avenue.

Earlier, the carrier informed about electric transport disruptions on Beresteiskyi Avenue, Harmatna, Vadyma Hetmana, Oleny Telihy, Danyla Shcherbakivskoho, Volodymyrska, Sviatoshynska, Stetsenka streets, and near the "Shuliavska" metro station.

In addition, due to the lack of power supply, the Kyiv funicular was temporarily suspended.

The transport restrictions arose against the backdrop of emergency power outages, which were introduced in Kyiv on the morning of November 2 by the order of "Ukrenergo" due to the difficult situation in the power system after Russian shelling.

The capital authorities will provide additional information about the restoration of traffic on other metro sections and further changes in electric transport operation. Passengers are advised to check the latest information before traveling.
