During the humanitarian mission in temporarily occupied Oleshky, Kherson region, almost 800 people were evacuated and necessary aid was delivered to the city. The ceasefire regime introduced for the operation ended on November 1 according to the agreements.

US First Lady Melania Trump reported the results of the mission on X. She called the operation successful and thanked Ukraine and Russia for cooperation during its conduct.

Trump also expressed hope that the agreements on Oleshky could become the basis for achieving lasting peace between the countries.

At the same time, the US First Lady did not specify how many of the nearly 800 evacuated people went to Ukrainian-controlled territory and how many to Russia. Therefore, the published figure refers to the overall results of the humanitarian mission.

Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets confirmed that the silence regime was in effect from October 27 to November 1. According to him, during this period the parties honored their commitments, which made it possible to deliver humanitarian aid and provide an opportunity for civilian residents to leave.

The humanitarian operation was coordinated with the participation of Melania Trump. Direct interaction was carried out by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets and Russian Ombudswoman Yana Lantratova.

Lubinets said that the parties are already working on the possibility of continuing such humanitarian measures. According to him, it is important to preserve the established mechanism of interaction for further assistance to the civilian population.

Recall, on October 31, a group of residents of Oleshky evacuated through the territory of Russia and Belarus arrived in Ukraine. Some civilians left the occupied city in other directions, and some residents decided to stay.

Currently, no new agreements on conducting the next humanitarian mission have been officially announced.
