Russian troops are preparing a new massive strike on the territory of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the main targets of the upcoming attack may be the country's energy and logistics infrastructure.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on the evening of November 2 in his video address.
The head of state emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence has information about the preparation of a new large-scale attack by the Russian side. However, the president did not name specific dates for its implementation.
Russia continues to pay special attention to energy infrastructure facilities. According to Zelensky, this year Russian troops have changed their strike tactics: in addition to power plants and other generating capacities, they are actively attacking power grids and electricity distribution systems.
As a result of such shelling, not only electricity production facilities are damaged, but also the infrastructure necessary for its delivery to consumers.
The president noted that in recent weeks, repair crews and energy workers have been working almost around the clock throughout the country. They restore electricity supply after Russian attacks.
At the same time, Russian troops continue to strike Ukrainian logistics, including transport infrastructure. Disrupting its operation creates additional difficulties for the transportation of passengers and goods.
Against the backdrop of the threat of new attacks, Ukrainian authorities continue work to strengthen air defense and restore damaged infrastructure.
One of the key problems remains providing Ukraine with a sufficient number of interceptor missiles, primarily for Patriot systems, necessary to counter Russian ballistic missiles.
Earlier, on October 29, Zelensky already warned about Russia's preparation of new ballistic strikes. At that time, the president reported intelligence data and called on international partners to speed up the supply of anti-missile defense systems.
In addition, on November 2, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to discuss a temporary halt to strikes on Russian oil refineries on the condition of a cessation of Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system or the provision of the necessary number of missiles for Patriot.
The president's new warning concerns a possible massive attack on several areas of critical infrastructure simultaneously. No official information has been published about the exact date of the supposed strike, the number of missiles or drones.
Ukrainians are advised to carefully monitor messages from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and not ignore air raid signals. When danger is announced, it is necessary to head to shelters and remain there until the official all-clear.
