Ukraine plans to resume monthly bonus payments to energy sector workers involved in restoring infrastructure after Russian shelling. Additional payments are provided for specialists working in difficult conditions and directly participating in repair and restoration work.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said this on November 2 in an evening video address.
The head of state said that energy workers will receive an additional monthly remuneration similar to the previously existing state support program. At the same time, the president has not yet specified the concrete amounts of new payments, their accrual terms, or final conditions.
A similar program operated in Ukraine in early 2026. At that time, the government established monthly bonuses of UAH 20,000 for specialists who directly participated in eliminating the consequences of Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
Payments were provided for January, February, and March. The program covered employees of energy companies regardless of ownership form, as well as specialists of utility companies, gas industry, water supply and sewerage, and railway workers involved in emergency restoration work.
To receive funds, enterprises submitted data on employees who directly participated in infrastructure restoration. Workers were not required to apply independently for the assistance. Money was transferred to bank accounts.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, from January to March 2026, UAH 793 million was allocated for additional payments to workers involved in emergency restoration work. Of this amount, more than UAH 535 million was received by energy workers.
Zelensky's new statement came amid ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. In his address, the president warned of Russia's preparation of another massive strike, whose main targets, according to Ukrainian intelligence, remain energy and logistics.
According to the president, Russian troops attack not only electricity generation facilities, but also power grids and distribution systems necessary for supplying electricity to the population and enterprises.
Against this background, repair crews continue to restore damaged infrastructure in various regions of the country.
The final procedure for resuming monthly bonuses must be determined by the government. Until the relevant decisions are approved, it cannot be assumed that the amount of new payments will automatically be UAH 20,000, as in the previous program.
Earlier, "Kurs Ukrainy" reported on the introduction of monthly allowances for workers of emergency restoration brigades.
