Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovskyi ordered to launch an internal investigation into the circumstances of the conflict in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region, where on November 2 clashes occurred near a building with servicemen of the National Guard. The inspection intends to study all information about the incident, including the conditions of the military personnel's stay.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this on his Telegram channel.

The decision was made after resonant events near a private house where servicemen of one of the units of the National Guard of Ukraine were located. Earlier, reports spread on social networks about the allegedly illegal detention of about 40 men, some of whom, according to witnesses, needed medical assistance.

Vyhovskyi ordered to check the circumstances of the incident, including information about the conditions of detention of the servicemen. Final conclusions about possible violations should be made based on the results of the internal investigation.

Earlier, the police of Kyiv region reported that they received a call from employees of a private ambulance service. The medics stated that they were being prevented from accessing a citizen who required a medical examination.

The arriving law enforcement officers established that the incident occurred near a private house where servicemen of the National Guard were located. The police, however, refuted the initial reports of hostage-taking and the death of a person.

After the information spread, local residents and relatives of the servicemen gathered near the building. People demanded access to the men inside. Subsequently, clashes occurred with law enforcement officers, during which, according to media reports, the police used special means.

The commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pivnenko, arrived at the scene. He spoke with relatives of the servicemen and journalists. Some family representatives were allowed to enter to familiarize themselves with the conditions of the military personnel's stay.

The 1st Corps of the NGU "Azov" reported that mobilized servicemen and military personnel detained after unauthorized abandonment of the unit (AWOL) were in the building. The latter were awaiting further assignment.

The command also confirmed the presence of injuries to four servicemen after AWOL. They were sent to a medical facility for examination and assistance. At the same time, the circumstances of the injuries have not yet been finally established.

The military ombudsman Olha Reshetylova joined the investigation. Representatives of her Office are working together with the command of the National Guard and are checking information about possible violations of servicemen's rights.

Earlier, the National Guard also stated the need for an internal investigation and bringing the guilty to justice if the facts of illegal actions are confirmed.

Thus, after the conflict in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, the investigation into the circumstances of the incident is being conducted at the level of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the command of the National Guard, and the military ombudsman. The final results of the investigations and decisions regarding possible culprits have not yet been made public.
