On the night of November 3, drones attacked the "Slavneft-YANOS" oil refinery in Russian Yaroslavl. A large-scale fire broke out at the enterprise, which is among the five largest refineries in Russia and supplies fuel to military aviation and equipment. Russian authorities confirmed damage to the plant's infrastructure.

The attack was reported by the publication Astra, whose journalists conducted an OSINT analysis of photos and video recordings from eyewitnesses and established that the fire occurred precisely on the territory of the Yaroslavl Refinery.

Based on the analysis of new images, Astra recorded at least five large and two smaller fire sources on the territory of the enterprise. Local residents reported numerous explosions and a strong fire throughout the night.

Subsequently, the governor of Yaroslavl Oblast, Mikhail Yevraev, confirmed damage to the infrastructure of the oil refinery as a result of the drone attack. According to him, special services are working to extinguish the fire.

The Russian official stated that 124 drones participated in the attack. He also reported two injured refinery workers who were hospitalized.

Due to the threat of new strikes, drone and missile alerts were declared in Yaroslavl Oblast. Authorities temporarily blocked traffic on the exit from Yaroslavl towards Moscow. Restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were imposed at the city's airport.

"Slavneft-YANOS" is one of the key enterprises in the Russian oil refining industry. Its production capacity is about 15 million tons of oil per year, or approximately 300 thousand barrels per day.

The enterprise is part of the "Slavneft" company, which is jointly controlled by "Rosneft" and "Gazprom Neft". The refinery produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, lubricants, and other petroleum products.

The products of the Yaroslavl Refinery are supplied to central and northwestern regions of Russia, including Moscow Oblast. Among the consumers of the enterprise are airports and facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex. The refinery also supplies fuel to Russian military aviation and equipment.

This is not the first attack on the enterprise in recent months. In August and September 2026, the Yaroslavl Refinery had already suffered damage. In particular, after the strike on September 17, the primary oil processing unit was damaged, which led to disruptions in the plant's production operations.

The new attack occurred amid the resumption of strikes on Russian oil infrastructure at the end of October. According to reports from the monitoring channel Exilenova+, since October 30, targets have included the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery in Samara Oblast, the oil processing enterprise in Ufa, the refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, and oil infrastructure in Samara Oblast.

The exact scale of damage to the Yaroslavl Refinery after the November 3 attack and its impact on production volumes are currently unknown. Officials have not reported a complete shutdown of the enterprise.
