Russian troops since the night of November 3 have continued massive strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The national energy company "Ukrenergo" called the situation one of the most large-scale attacks on the country's power grid. As a result of the new shelling, the electricity supply situation has deteriorated further.
This was reported on November 3 by NPC "Ukrenergo" in its official Telegram channel.
According to the company, just in the past day, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian energy facilities more than 20 times intentionally. The enemy used an unprecedented number of weapons for the strikes, which led to significant damage to the energy infrastructure.
"Ukrenergo" emphasized that the massive shelling has continued since the night, and new damage complicates the operation of the power grid, which had already been under serious strain after previous Russian attacks.
Due to the consequences of the shelling, emergency power outages are being forced in a number of regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv. Such restrictions are introduced to maintain stable operation of the power grid and prevent additional accidents.
Previously published schedules for hourly outages in regions with emergency restrictions are temporarily not applied. The duration of power supply interruptions depends on the state of the power grid and the results of restoration work.
Thousands of energy workers have been working since the night to eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes and restore electricity supply. First of all, electricity will be returned to critical infrastructure facilities that are essential for providing the population with vital services.
The company noted that all involved services are constantly coordinating actions to stabilize the situation. "Ukrenergo" promises to report further on changes in the electricity supply mode.
Recall, on the morning of November 3, the Ministry of Energy reported strikes on power plants, substations, and combined heat and power plants in ten regions of Ukraine. The most difficult situation with electricity supply is in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions.
In addition, the energy company DTEK reported that as a result of several waves of missile and drone strikes, three of its thermal power plants stopped generating electricity. Extensive damage to equipment and infrastructure has been recorded at the enterprises.
"Ukrenergo" has not yet named specific timelines for stabilizing the power grid and canceling emergency outages. Consumers are advised to follow updates from local distribution network operators, as the situation may change depending on the consequences of new attacks.
