The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine stated that one of the high-ranking officials of the Security Service of Ukraine is threatening to use firearms and hindering the execution of a search. The incident occurred on November 4 during investigative actions sanctioned by the High Anti-Corruption Court.

This was reported by the NABU press service.

According to the bureau, detectives arrived to conduct a search based on a ruling by the investigating judge of the HACC. However, one of the high-ranking SBU officials refused to allow them access to the location of the investigative actions and threatened to use weapons.

In addition, employees of a special SBU unit arrived at the search location. The NABU viewed the official's actions as obstruction of the lawful procedural duties of the detectives.

"Such actions are unacceptable and hinder the execution of the lawful procedural duties of NABU detectives", - emphasized at the anti-corruption bureau.

According to "Ukrayinska Pravda," citing sources in law enforcement agencies, the official in question is SBU General Serhiy Duka.

The publication notes that Duka holds the position of First Deputy Head of the Department for Protection of National Statehood of the SBU. According to the Anti-Corruption Action Center, in July 2025 under his leadership the special service conducted more than 50 searches of NABU detectives.

At the same time, NABU itself did not officially name the official who, according to the bureau, is hindering the search.

The circumstances of the criminal proceeding within which the investigative actions are being conducted are currently not disclosed. There is also no information about actual use of weapons or casualties.

At the time of publication, the official position of the SBU regarding the anti-corruption bureau's statement had not been made public. The NABU promised to provide additional details later.
