The number of those killed in the Russian airstrike on a school in the village of Kamyshevakha in Zaporizhzhia region has risen to 40. More than 30 more people may remain under the rubble of the destroyed building. The search and rescue operation has been going on for three days.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this on November 4. According to him, a number of victims have not yet been identified.

All necessary services are involved in the search and rescue operation, but work is proceeding under difficult conditions due to the constant threat of repeated Russian strikes.

Earlier, Ukrinform, citing the police of Zaporizhzhia region, reported that 59 people were considered missing. To identify the dead, specialists are conducting identification, including through DNA testing.

Zelensky also drew attention to what he considered an insufficient international reaction to the Russian attack and called on partners to increase support for Ukraine's air defense.

A three-day mourning period has been declared in Zaporizhzhia region from November 3 to 5 for those killed in the shelling of Kamyshevakha.
