On the night of November 5, drones attacked the Russian city of Ryazan. A fire broke out at the local oil refinery, which supplies fuel to the central regions of Russia and its armed forces. Other industrial facilities in the city also caught fire, and power outages were reported.

The fire at the Ryazan Oil Refinery was reported by Astra. Its OSINT analyst verified the released videos and established that the refinery's territory was indeed burning.

According to local residents, a series of explosions occurred in Ryazan after a drone threat was declared. The monitoring channel Exilenova+ published footage showing several fire hotspots in the industrial zone of the enterprise.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery belongs to Rosneft and is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. Its capacity is approximately 17-18 million tons of oil per year.

The plant produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, and other petroleum products. The enterprise plays an important role in fuel supply for Moscow and the central regions of the Russian Federation and also works for the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.

In particular, the refinery produces aviation kerosene TS-1, which is used in jet aviation. Previously, the enterprise also developed special grades of motor gasoline according to the requirements of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, when reporting a previous strike on the plant in September 2026, confirmed its involvement in supplying the Russian armed forces.

This is not the first attack on the enterprise. On October 15, after a drone strike, a fire also broke out at the Ryazan Oil Refinery. According to Astra, the operation of one of the main primary oil refining units was suspended at that time.

The extent of damage from the new attack on November 5 has not yet been determined. There is currently no information about production stoppage or reduction in refining volumes after this strike.

The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, confirmed a massive drone attack and fires on the territory of industrial facilities in the city. However, he did not name the specific enterprises where ignitions occurred.

According to the governor, the attack damaged power lines, causing power supply interruptions in parts of Ryazan. Private houses were also damaged and windows were broken in one of the schools. Classes at the institution were canceled. One injured person was reported.

Additionally, local residents reported a possible fire on the territory of a large logistics center of Wildberries in the Ryazan region. The distribution complex has an area of about 173,000 square meters.

However, Astra noted that its OSINT analyst could not confirm the location of the photograph circulated by eyewitnesses. Therefore, information about damage to the logistics center remains preliminary. Previously, this facility was already attacked on July 29, after which it temporarily limited operations.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that during the night, Russian air defense allegedly shot down 496 drones over several regions of the country, occupied Crimea, and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. There is no independent confirmation of this number.

As of the morning of November 5, there were no official reports from Ukrainian military command regarding the results of this attack.
