In early November, Ukrainian banks continue to compete for hryvnia savings of the population. After another increase in the key policy rate by the National Bank of Ukraine, the deposit market received an additional boost: financial institutions began to revise deposit yields, offering clients more attractive conditions.

Small and medium-sized banks are especially active in the fight for depositors. Among the most interesting offers are deposits from Unex Bank, Radabank, Accordbank, and MTB Bank. Also noteworthy is the Bank for Investments and Savings, which offers its own time deposit programs.

What is happening with deposit rates?

In October, the NBU raised the key policy rate for the third time in a row, bringing it to 16.5% per annum. The decision came into force on October 30. Thus, the National Bank continued its course of tightening monetary policy, seeking to curb inflation and maintain the attractiveness of hryvnia assets.

This is an important signal for the deposit market. A higher key policy rate and yields on NBU certificates of deposit increase banks' interest in attracting time hryvnia resources from the population.

Even before the regulator's October decision, a number of small banks began to raise interest rates on deposits. Some institutions increased yields immediately by 0.5–1.5 percentage points.

As a result, the most attractive offers on the market already reach 17–17.5% per annum.

MTB Bank: up to 17% per annum

MTB Bank also offers competitive yields.

According to published offers, the "Time deposit" allows you to receive up to 17% per annum for a 6-month deposit. The minimum amount is UAH 2,000, interest is paid monthly.

The bank's offers are especially interesting for those who are ready to place money for several months and do not need the possibility of early withdrawal.

BISBANK: up to 17.25% per annum

The Bank for Investments and Savings offers the "Profitable" deposit, aimed at clients who are ready to place hryvnia for a long term.

For new clients (who have not had deposits with the bank in the last month), the bank offers to open a "Profitable" deposit in hryvnia for 6 months with interest payment at the end of the term through the mobile banking application BIS24. In this case, the interest rate will be: 16.30% base + 0.50% bonus for online opening in BIS24 + 0.45% bonus for a new depositor = 17.25% per annum.

How average market rates are changing

To assess the attractiveness of individual banks' offers, it is useful to compare them with market averages.

According to the UIRD index as of November 3, 2026, average indicative rates on hryvnia deposits were:

Placement term
Average rate
3 months
13.92%
6 months
14.57%
9 months
14.79%
12 months
14.17%

Thus, offers from Unex Bank, Accordbank, and MTB Bank significantly exceed the market average. The difference with some offers reaches 3 percentage points or more.

UIRD is calculated on the basis of nominal rates of 20 leading banks and is a market indicator, not a guaranteed rate for each depositor.

Is it worth opening a hryvnia deposit now?

The increase in the NBU key policy rate and intensifying competition among banks create favorable conditions for depositors. However, one should not count on the same increase in yields in all financial institutions.

According to bankers' forecasts, moderate changes in rates are most likely, mainly by 0.25–0.5 percentage points, although for individual offers the increase may reach 0.75–1 percentage points. Banks may pay special attention to deposits for three to six months.

When choosing a deposit, it is worth considering not only the advertised interest rate, but also several other circumstances:

  1. Placement term. The maximum rate is usually offered on condition that the depositor does not need the money before the contract expires.
  2. Interest payment. When paid at the end of the term, the rate is often higher than when receiving income monthly.
  3. Possibility of replenishment. It allows you to gradually increase the amount of savings, but sometimes implies a lower yield.
  4. Early termination. Many high-yield time deposits do not provide for return of money before the end of the contract.
  5. Taxation. Interest income of individuals is subject to taxes, so the actual profit will be lower than the nominal rate.

Conclusion

The beginning of November 2026 is a rather interesting period for placing hryvnia savings in Ukrainian banks. After three consecutive increases in the NBU key policy rate, the deposit market has revived, and some financial institutions are already offering up to 17–17.5% per annum.

All interest rates on deposits in the article are indicated before taxation: the client actually receives accrued interest minus 23% (18% - personal income tax, 5% - military levy).
