The decline in cash dollar selling rates has slowed significantly, as demand has noticeably revived at current levels. Yesterday evening, the capital's wholesale exchange offices raised the dollar selling rate by 10 kopecks, to 46.35 UAH. However, on Thursday morning, attempts are being made to play for a decrease in order to encourage those selling currency to do so more actively. In the first half of Thursday, November 5, the dollar in Kyiv was sold at 46.35 UAH, then the selling rate was reduced to 46.30 UAH.
In regional centers, the rate also decreased by about 5-10 kopecks. Today in the first half of the day, wholesalers sold the dollar at the following prices: Cherkasy – 46.25 UAH, Mykolaiv – 46.35 UAH, Poltava and Khmelnytskyi – 46.40 UAH, Kharkiv – 46.44 UAH, Odesa – 46.45 UAH.
Following financial companies, commercial banks are also trying to reduce rates slowly and extremely reluctantly. As of 12:00 on Thursday, the cheapest dollar at 45.90 UAH could be bought in some branches of PUMB bank. The most expensive dollar at 46.40 UAH was sold in BTA Bank.
As for the euro, here the minimum selling rate – 51.50 UAH – is again offered in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank, and the maximum – 52.30 UAH – in Accordbank. The euro is rising on FOREX, so one should definitely not expect it to become cheaper in Ukrainian banks.
According to analysts of the "Kurs Ukrainy" portal, another local minimum of dollar selling rates is forming somewhere around here. In the second half of November, the probability of further decline is much lower than that of renewed growth.
