Vinnytsia has introduced a new monthly compensation for rental housing expenses for residents whose houses or apartments were destroyed or deemed unfit for living due to Russian shelling. The amount of assistance ranges from 15 to 20 thousand hryvnias depending on the number of family members.
The Vinnytsia City Council reported this on November 5, according to "Suspilne".
The new municipal program provides monthly payments to families who, due to Russian attacks, are forced to rent other housing. The amount of compensation depends on the family composition:
- 15,000 hryvnias per month — for families of one, two or three people.
- 20,000 hryvnias per month — for families of four or more people.
According to Mayor Serhiy Morhunov, the new program is designed to help residents who have lost the ability to live in their own homes and are forced to pay rent for other housing.
"We introduced a new municipal payment for people whose homes are destroyed or severely damaged. From 15 to 20 thousand hryvnias monthly depending on the number of family members", — the mayor said.
To receive compensation, several conditions must be met:
- Be registered and actually residing in housing on the territory of the Vinnytsia community that was damaged by Russian shelling.
- Have official confirmation that the damaged housing is unfit for living.
- Obtain an inspection and damage recording report from the housing department of the Vinnytsia City Council.
- Not own or possess other livable housing on the territory of the Vinnytsia community or neighboring territorial communities. This condition also applies to the applicant's family members.
To apply for the payment, you must submit an application and relevant documents to one of two social protection departments.
- Right-bank department: 30 Kosmonavtiv Avenue, second floor. Phones: 097 101 58 40, (0432) 50-83-95, (0432) 50-83-88.

Residents who cannot independently visit the social protection department can use the mobile workplace service. To do this, contact the relevant department by phone. Specialists will be able to come to your home, accept documents and help process the payment.
In addition to rental compensation, city authorities continue to provide one-time financial assistance to residents whose housing was damaged by Russian attacks.
At the executive committee meeting on November 5, payments were approved for another 36 community residents. The funds are intended for restoration of damaged windows, doors and roofs.
The amount of such assistance ranges from 15 to 50 thousand hryvnias depending on the nature of the damage determined by a special commission.
According to Morhunov, a week earlier similar payments were approved for 47 people.
Municipal support is provided in addition to the state program "yeVidnovlennia" and assistance from international organizations. City payments allow affected residents to receive funds for priority needs while they process other prescribed compensations.
At the same time, rental compensation and repair assistance are different types of municipal support. The first provides monthly payments to families left without suitable housing, the second is intended for restoration of damaged property.
