Today's decline in quotations on the interbank currency market under pressure from another intervention by the National Bank of Ukraine contributed to a change in sentiment on the cash currency market, where after some deliberation prices also continued their downward movement.

In Kyiv by Thursday evening, large batches of "white" dollars (i.e., old-style dollars) could be purchased for 46.20 UAH. Compared to yesterday evening, the selling price decreased by 15 kopecks.

In regional centers at the same time, the price of cash dollars started from 46.18 UAH in Odesa to 46.34 UAH in Kharkiv. In Lviv, the cash "American" was asked for 46.23 UAH, and in Dnipro – 46.30 UAH. According to reports from Dnipro, due to the total blackout in the city and constant shelling, the activity of currency buyers significantly decreased. How did prices change? In all the cities under consideration, the dollar became cheaper over the day, only the magnitude of the decline differed. In Dnipro, the price dropped by 10 kopecks, in Kharkiv – by 16, in Lviv – by 17, and in Odesa – by as much as 37 kopecks.

While prices in wholesale exchange offices decreased today, this decline was hardly noticeable in Ukrainian banks. As yesterday, by Thursday evening the cheapest dollar was sold in some branches of Bank Lviv for 45.90 UAH, and the most expensive – for 46.40 UAH at BTA Bank.

But prices for the euro decreased in some places and increased in others. By this evening, the minimum selling price for the euro started from 51.45 UAH in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank, while the most expensive euro – for 52.20 UAH – was sold at Bank Pivdennyi.

The gap between the cost of non-cash and cash dollars is not falling. By Thursday evening, it increased to 87 kopecks. Everything indicates that stabilization of the cash currency market is still far away. Demand for cash currency from the population remains high, and the decline in prices only stimulates buying more. Those who believe in the stability and reliability of the hryvnia are clearly becoming fewer.
