Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko, former world champion in three weight classes, officially resumes his professional career. The athlete has entered into a new multi-year contract with American promotional company Top Rank and plans to hold his next fight in early 2027.

Top Rank's press service announced this on November 5.

The new agreement provides for joint promotion of Lomachenko's fights by Top Rank and Loma Power Promotions, a company created by the boxer himself. Financial terms and the exact duration of the contract are not disclosed.

The Ukrainian intends to continue competing in the super featherweight division — up to 59 kg. His main goal is to win the title of undisputed world champion by unifying the major championship belts.

Top Rank head Bob Arum welcomed the Ukrainian athlete's return. According to him, Lomachenko remains one of the most talented boxers he has ever worked with.

"He has achieved a lot, but is determined to become undisputed champion," — noted Arum.

Lomachenko himself admitted that he had not previously expected to step back into the professional ring. He also thanked his manager Egis Klimas, who continued to convince him of the possibility of returning.

When will Lomachenko's next fight take place

Top Rank officially confirmed that the Ukrainian's return to the ring is scheduled for early 2027.

According to The Ring, Lomachenko's potential opponent will be undefeated Filipino boxer Charlie Suarez, who holds high positions in the super featherweight rankings.

The bout is tentatively being considered for February 13, 2027. However, Top Rank has not yet officially announced the opponent, date, or venue.

If his comeback is successful, Lomachenko hopes to contend for the unification of championship titles in the new weight class.

Return after retirement

38-year-old Lomachenko announced his retirement from professional boxing in June 2025. At that time, he held the IBF lightweight title.

The Ukrainian's last official bout took place in May 2024, when he defeated Australian George Kambosos Jr. by technical knockout in the 11th round.

In total, Lomachenko has won 18 fights in the professional ring, 12 of them by knockout, and lost three.

The Ukrainian is a two-time Olympic champion — in 2008 and 2012. During his professional career, he has won world titles in three weight classes.

Lomachenko has been working with Top Rank since turning professional in 2013. The new agreement allows this partnership to continue with the involvement of the athlete's own promotional structure.
