Spain will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth 437 million euros. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the agreement after talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, which took place on November 5 in Madrid.

The head of state reported this on his Telegram channel.

According to Zelensky, the parties discussed the content of the new weapons package and Ukraine's most pressing defense needs. The specific list of equipment, weapons, and ammunition included in the aid has not yet been disclosed.

“Throughout all the years of this war, Spain has consistently helped and supported us. And there is a new military aid package worth 437 million euros from Spain,” — the president said.

Special attention during the talks was given to protecting Ukraine from Russian missile and drone attacks.

Zelensky briefed the Spanish prime minister on the situation in the energy sector and the consequences of strikes on critical infrastructure, particularly power grids, water supply facilities, logistics, and railways.

According to the president, during 2026, Russian attacks damaged more Ukrainian locomotives than in all previous years of the full-scale war. He stressed that constant strikes on energy and transport infrastructure significantly complicate the operation of vital systems.

Zelensky noted that the situation remains especially difficult in Kyiv. In this regard, Ukraine is interested not only in military supplies but also in additional humanitarian support for restoring damaged facilities.

The president thanked Spain for its consistent assistance and personally thanked Pedro Sanchez for his support of Ukraine.

During the meeting, Zelensky also expressed condolences over the railway accident in Spain, which occurred in late October and led to numerous casualties.

It will be recalled that on March 18, 2026, Pedro Sanchez announced Spain's intention to allocate 1 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine within a year. It was expected that a significant part of the support would be provided through the European defense mechanism SAFE, including cooperation with Ukrainian arms manufacturers.

However, it is not yet specified whether the 437 million euro package announced on November 5 is part of the previously agreed funding or is an additional commitment by Spain.

Specific delivery timelines and the distribution of funds by type of weapons have also not been announced. Thus, this is a newly agreed support package, not a confirmed receipt by Ukraine of weapons worth the stated amount.
