On the night of November 6, the Krasnodar Krai of Russia was attacked by drones. After a series of explosions, a fire broke out at the Afipsky Oil Refinery, one of the largest industry enterprises in the south of the Russian Federation. Over the industrial zone, dense smoke rose, which, according to eyewitness accounts, spread to the outskirts of Krasnodar.

About the attack reported independent outlet Astra and monitoring channel Exilenova+, which published messages from local residents, photos and videos of the fire.

According to Astra, residents of Krasnodar Krai reported numerous explosions and air defense activity throughout the night. Eyewitnesses also recorded significant smoke in the area of the Afipsky Oil Refinery.

Later, an OSINT analyst at Astra examined eyewitness photos and established that the fire occurred on the territory of the Afipsky Oil Refinery. Initially, the outlet noted that the received footage had not undergone independent verification, but later published the results of their analysis.

The Russian operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai also confirmed a fire after a drone attack, but did not name the enterprise.

"In the settlement of Afipsky in the Seversky district, as a result of falling debris of a UAV, a fire broke out on the territory of one of the enterprises", the regional operational headquarters said in a statement cited by Astra.

According to the Russian authorities, there are no casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Meanwhile, Exilenova+ published new footage of the fire and reported on the continuation of the attack throughout the morning. There was also information about explosions and fires in neighboring Adygea and on the outskirts of Krasnodar. There is currently no independent confirmation of all these reports.

The Afipsky Oil Refinery is one of the key oil refining enterprises in southern Russia. After the completion of the first stage of modernization in March 2025, its production capacity, according to Russian media, is 9.1 million tons of oil per year. The plant specializes in the production of diesel fuel, gasoline components and other petroleum products.

The enterprise has repeatedly been targeted by drone attacks. In particular, in June and July 2026, fires broke out on its territory after strikes. In August, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed strikes on the facilities of the Afipsky Oil Refinery by Ukrainian units.

It is not yet known how serious the consequences of the new attack on November 6 are and whether the fire affected the operation of the enterprise. There is no confirmed data on a production halt.
