Against the backdrop of the emerging decline in cash dollar quotations on the interbank currency market, the selling prices of cash dollars have also gone down. And although currency market operators are extremely reluctant to lower them, as they say, "the process has begun." On Friday morning, the capital's wholesale exchange offices began selling cash "American" at 46.20 UAH, but by the time of writing the article they lowered the price tags to 46.10 UAH. Compared to yesterday's daytime prices, the dollar became cheaper by 20 kopecks.
Prices are also decreasing in regional centers. Today in the first half of the day wholesalers sold dollars at the following prices: Mykolaiv and Lutsk – 46.10 UAH, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi – 46.15 UAH, Dnipro – 46.20 UAH, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi – 46.30 UAH, Rivne – 46.35 UAH, Poltava – 46.40 UAH.
Following the financial companies, commercial banks are also trying to slowly and extremely reluctantly lower rates. As of 12:00 on Friday, the cheapest dollar at 45.80 UAH could be bought at Ukrgasbank. The most expensive dollar at 46.20 UAH was sold by Radabank, Abank and Europrombank.
As for the euro, the minimum selling rate at the moment is at Tascombank. The bank is ready to sell euros at 51.29 UAH. The maximum selling rate for cash euros is 52.05 UAH at BTA Bank. Today the euro is falling on FOREX, so we can hope that by evening the prices will drop by another 5-10 kopecks.
After the sharp rise in late October-early November, banks together with the NBU are trying to swing the rate in the opposite direction to calm the population and stop the possible outflow of depositors from hryvnia deposits. Whether they will achieve their goal will be shown in the near future.
