On November 6, the Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv imposed a preventive measure on the fourth suspect in the case of mass riots in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka. 22-year-old resident of Kyiv region Valeriia Ladyka was taken into custody for 59 days with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 66 thousand hryvnias.

Court decision was reported by Suspilne, whose correspondent was present at the hearing.

Ladyka is charged with obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code. The article's sanction provides for five to eight years of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, on November 2, the suspect participated in blocking a National Guard unit in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka.

Being near a service bus with servicemen inside, the woman allegedly called on other participants of the riots to overturn the vehicle. The investigation claims that she also personally joined in rocking the bus.

According to prosecutor Olena Fed, as a result of these actions, the service vehicle suffered mechanical damage.

The prosecution asked the court to take Ladyka into custody without the right to post bail. The prosecution cited risks of the suspect fleeing from investigation and possible influence on witnesses.

Meanwhile, lawyer Serhii Bidnyi insisted that his client did not prepare for the riots and came to the scene spontaneously, having seen messages on social media about allegedly illegal detention of people in a building.

According to the defense counsel, Ladyka did not coordinate her actions with other participants and stayed near the building for about 40 minutes.

The suspect herself stated that she did not know about the location of the military unit in the building and had no intention to harm anyone. She admitted that she held on to the bus for some time but denied conscious participation in the organized blocking of the military.

The court partially granted the prosecution's motion, imposing bail of 66 thousand hryvnias as an alternative to detention.

If posted, Ladyka will have to comply with the procedural obligations imposed by the court, including not leaving Kyiv and Vyshneve, and surrendering her foreign passport.

The lawyer said that the defense does not plan to appeal the court decision.

Recall, on November 4, the Solomianskyi District Court sent Valentyna Moloda and Tetiana Kireieva into custody without bail, whom the investigation considers involved in organizing the events in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka.

The next day, a similar preventive measure was imposed on the third suspect in the case, Viktor Yenia, who drove a car disguised as an ambulance.

Thus, Valeriia Ladyka became the fourth suspect for whom the court imposed a preventive measure in the investigation of the riots of November 2. Unlike the three previous suspects, she got the possibility of release on bail.

Recall, the clashes arose after the spread on social media of unconfirmed reports about allegedly illegal detention of people in a building used for temporary accommodation of National Guard servicemen.

The pre-trial investigation continues. The guilt of the suspects must be proven in court.
